Jim Shultz has secured St John School on Kingsbury and Monroe in Laporte on Saturday Nov 7 from 10 am till 3 pm as a test date to see how the venue will work out . It is a 84 x 50 room with 22 high ceiling. The School charges $20 an hour for the use of the room so the more that show up the less it will cost per person. If this works out we will be posting an indoor schedule.
Rodney and Henry have mounted the sign to the field house and also have tightened up the fence.
The port-a-pot will be drained and locked some time this month.
Discussion on the new FAA guidelines for UAV (rc models) was discussed and the 100 mph speed limit is in effect and looks like turbine powered model aircraft are a thing of the past. There is a 52 lb weight limit for models. There is no flying with in a 3 mile radius of an airport unless the airport allows it. There is a 400 foot ceiling on rc flight also. This is all thanks to Home land security. Failure to follow FAA guidelines will result in you having to get a private pilots license to fly your model.
Some discussion about some issues that occurred at the IMAC event @ Wheeler involving alcohol on the premises . We reviewed our bylaws and discussed possible ammendments regarding the subject.
